AprilAire Zoning

AprilAire Zone Control

AprilAire Zone Control is the key to year-round comfort in all rooms. Most houses use a single thermostat to heat and cool every room. If your home has multiple floors, areas of large glass exposure, or features like bonus rooms, you likely have areas that aren’t as warm or as cool as the rest of your house. Achieve peak comfort throughout your whole home with AprilAire zoning solutions and control the temperature in different parts of the house, independent of the temperature in other rooms or zones.

Zone Control in Your Home

How It Works Your AprilAire Healthy Air Pro will help you assess your home’s zoning needs, identifying areas where temperatures change, and deciding how best to integrate AprilAire zone control into your home’s HVAC system. If you’re purchasing a new home from a builder that has integrated AprilAire zone control into your HVAC system, you can rest assured that they’ve designed the zone system in your new home to heat or cool each zone as efficiently as possible.

Controls

• Main Control: Your AprilAire thermostat will act as the control for the part of your house that’s designated as the primary zone. This device, as well as the AprilAire Healthy Air App on your phone, will also control humidity and air purity in your home, depending upon the AprilAire Healthy Air solutions you have installed.

• Secondary Interface(s): When your AprilAire Healthy Air Pro designates each zone in your home, that zone will be controlled by a secondary interface. This will allow you to adjust the temperature in that zone independent of other zones in your home.

Control Panel

• Located on or adjacent to your home’s HVAC system, the AprilAire zone control panel manages the heating and cooling equipment as well as air control dampers based upon the needs of each individual thermostat. In addition, the AprilAire control panel has built-in features to protect the HVAC equipment and help it operate at peak efficiency.

Zone Dampers

• Zone dampers located in the duct system selectively direct the conditioned air to only the zones that need it based upon the thermostat settings for each zone. The dampers are maintenance free and quietly perform day and night to keep each zone perfectly comfortable.
