Breathe Life Into U.S. Economy with Healthy Air Upgrades

2 minute read

As more people are focusing on their health, like how much sleep they get, what they eat,  and how they shop, indoor air integrates neatly into this category and plays an important role in a person’s overall well-being. Healthy indoor air is an emerging wellness trend for indoor spaces such as restaurants, malls, theatres, and hotels. Not unlike other wellness trends, such as fitness smartwatches or calorie counting, consumers want to quantify the quality of space’s indoor air. As a result, manufacturers are beginning to look at air sensors that would provide a reading or grade of space’s Indoor Air Quality and breathe life into the U.S. economy.

IAQ Needed To Breathe Life Into U.S. Economy

In a recent survey conducted by Carbon Lighthouse via Dynata, ninety-one percent of the 1000 people surveyed said Indoor Air Quality is important in fighting COVID-19. Eighty-two percent of that group said they would be likely to use a free app that would provide data on Indoor Air Quality. Additionally, seventy-six percent of those surveyed said an air quality grade would make them feel better about being in a certain building.

While HVAC  upgrades can cost upwards of several thousand dollars, an influx of Indoor Air Quality equipment and installs would provide jobs and help to rebound the economy that slipped during the COVID-19 pandemic. President Biden has made a commitment to buying and manufacturing American products and that there would be plenty of opportunities in this industry for the U.S. economy. Not only would it provide a short-term boost, but upgraded Indoor Air Quality can also help companies reduce their carbon footprint since newer equipment is more energy-efficient than older equipment.

Homeowners Have Money Set Aside for HVAC Upgrades

Companies are not the only ones looking to upgrade their HVAC. Homeowners, according to a recent Aeroseal LLC survey, are also making plans for their HVAC systems. Sixty-seven percent of respondents said they would spend money on cleaner healthier air. They even suggested that they are already planning to spend around $2,000 on such a project. To do so, eighty percent said they are comfortable with a contractor entering their home, but would require a mask.
